[Project Manager] – Construction Company (Newcastle upon Tyne)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum

About the Role

Our well-established construction company is seeking a senior Project Manager to oversee all aspects of site management, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to specification, and with full adherence to HSE compliance.

As Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving project success, managing teams, and maintaining robust communication between stakeholders—both internally and externally. This is a full-time, permanent position aimed at experienced professionals with construction expertise and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Performance

  • Coordinate site activities with the Construction Manager to meet time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are upheld, with performance tracking against programme deadlines.
  • Manage cost compliance, liaise with procurement teams, and ensure budget adherence.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

  • Enforce all Health & Safety policies and report compliance to internal officers.
  • Record and escalate any deviations (e.g., damage to services, risk alerts) to the office immediately.
  • Ensure all documentation (e.g., weekly returns, hazard logs) is submitted on time for authorisation.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and motivate teams (labour, subcontractors) to maintain high productivity.
  • Client liaison—address concerns and ensure smooth communication with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate site meetings, including weekly progress updates and cost/value reconciliations.

Operations & Reporting

  • Verify workmanship by subcontractors and advise the Quantity Surveyor/Construction Manager of defects.
  • Maintain daily site records, including work sheets and site instructions.
  • Present progress reports to management and action snagging/defect lists.
  • Network with internal teams (Design, P&T, Building Services) to coordinate schedules.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
