How You’ll Play Your Part
In this role, you will lead a project team in delivering a solution to the customer according to the approved project plan, ensuring it is delivered in budget, on schedule, and within scope to the explicit and implied requirements, providing status reports and advice to Management and User Groups.
Main Accountabilities
- Manage and control project initiation to include, agreeing project scope, resourcing of project, cost estimation and approval of project by relevant stakeholder groups.
- Construct high level and detailed project plans including interdependencies with other project and non-project activities outside control.
- Lead, monitor and control project performance (scope, cost, schedule, quality and deliverables), including change control, risk management, and escalation of issues the team cannot resolve and manage through to conclusion.
- Together with service quality management determine project quality goals and act according to these throughout the project, to ensure quality project deliverables and compliance to Mercedes-Benz standards.
- Provide day to day leadership and direction to the project team and manage all project resources, including subcontractors.
- Supplier management to include engagement with suppliers, support of supplier evaluation, review of suppliers in terms of adherence to Mercedes-Benz standards and management of the supplier in the delivery of their commitments.
- Coordinate the architecture, design and development activities through suppliers as required or internal resource pool as appropriate.
- Ensure delivery of required documentation to the agreed standards and policies on each project or enhancement.
- Manage, control and report project budgets and resource utilisation.
- Establish and execute a communication plan with the project team and the customer. Manage formal reporting of project into Mercedes-Benz Project Management Office as appropriate.
- Provide regular project status to the sponsors, stakeholders and customers and Strategic Change Leadership where required.
- Manage effective stakeholder communication up to Level 4 in the organisation, through Project Steering committee meetings and regular project updates.
- Provide a full test and release plan for each project or enhancement for review as needed.
- Manage user acceptance testing. Obtain acceptance and approval of project deliverables from the business project lead and/or the Sponsors. Manage stakeholder acceptance of project deliverables.
- Manage handover of project into operational support. Perform project close and lessons learnt activities.
- Manage relationships with various Stakeholders including Head Office. Ensure project needs are met while maintaining a long-term sustainable relationship.
- Manage Business Partners within UK Companies (MBFS, MBUK, etc.) and Head Office functions as required.
- Manage external service providers as required to perform role and deliver results.

About You
- Knowledge of the Automotive Captive Finance market
- Ability to apply project management disciplines and processes.
- Ability to anticipate potential project related problems, and to analyse and resolve problems.
- Ability to identify, eliminate or contain technical and business risks.
- Experience with the organisation’s development and project methodology.
- Uses commercial and business acumen to size and solve problems.
- Understands concepts associated with organizational change.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Strong customer facing/service skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills including influencing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with many tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a changing environment where ambiguity exists and judgement calls are required to determine the way forward.
