Project Manager

Project Manager – Life Sciences Programme (Fully Technology, Surrey & Moorgate, London)

The programme: An opportunity to work within a life sciences project, delivering critical national infrastructure for a central government client. We are seeking a Project Manager with strong project delivery/construction management experience to support the delivery of secured projects within the programme of works.

Over the next year, Mace will support our client in increasing volume of construction works compared to previous years, with construction starting on a range of projects—spanning infrastructure and new build science laboratories.

Note: This role will be based on our client’s site in Weybridge, Surrey (3 days/week) and Moorgate, London. This position requires the successful candidate to pass BPSS and SC security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a delivery team, reporting to the Lead Project Manager
  • Act as contract administrator, managing the main contractor through project delivery
  • Lead management of design teams, consultants, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and service excellence
  • Oversee RIBA Stage 5 design to delivery, ensuring fully coordinated design while maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Manage project budgets and change management to stay within forecast outturn costs
  • Maintail a live risk register and conduct regular reviews with the wider team
  • Champion inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation in line with Mace’s core values
  • Oversee budgets, risks, and change management; maintain accurate planning and project documentation

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE) or equivalent qualifications
  • Proven experience in on-site project delivery and construction management
  • Technical expertise in building regulations and Health & Safety (H&S)
  • Extensive in public sector project and programme delivery
  • Strong commercial, financial, and stakeholder management skills
