Project Manager – Aerospace Systems

Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee internal project(s) from initiation to delivery, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, business objectives, and timelines. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to drive success at every phase of the Parker Meggitt gated programme lifecycle.
With a focus on cost control, performance, and risk mitigation, you’ll guide teams with expert project management methodologies and maintain open communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and lead an integrated project team, delivering predetermined deliverables per the business case.
- Oversee a gated Parker Meggitt programme lifecycle process, balancing scope, schedule, and budget.
- Define, capture, and track requirements alongside acceptance criteria throughout the project lifecycle.

Execution & Delivery Excellence
- Achieve project milestones while aligning with deadlines; proactively manage risks that impact schedule.
- Optimise cross-functional collaboration, ensuring stakeholder needs align with project deliverables.
- Capture and present scope change requests for wider programme dispotions.
- Forecast cost phasing and monitor non-recurring expenses against approved budgets, addressing variances.
Customer & Communicational Stewardship
- Act as a customer liaison, facilitating internal and external review meetings to align expectations.
- Present data-driven status updates to stakeholders, flagging attention areas.
- Foster a culture of best practice project management by motivating teams to adopt effective processes.
Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- Essential: Strong background in project management, demonstrating delivery success.
- Preference for aerospace experience, particularly in New Product Development (NPD).
- Advantageous: Deep knowledge of aerospace qualification requirements and industry standards.
Methodologies & Tools
- Detailed understanding of project management frameworks and reporting structures.
- Preferred: Experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
- Formal project management training or certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
Soft Skills & Cultural Fit
- Experience in matrix-based organisations, interfacing with external customers/suppliers.
- Agility: Adaptable to changes in priorities and environments.
- Self-starter: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Clear planning, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Security
- Security clearance at SC level may be required. If you lack clearance:
