Purpose of the Job
Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role across the full project lifecycle — from Early Contractor Involvement and design, through construction delivery and commissioning. This is a fast-paced, complex role requiring strong leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage interdependent projects while maintaining critical operational outputs.
Stakeholder management is central to this role, and you will engage daily with a wide range of internal and external parties, including senior representatives across multiple organisations.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the management of design, construction delivery, and commissioning of enabling infrastructure works (including buildings, roads, services, and security-related elements).
- Provide professional project management leadership to deliver project objectives safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage Early Contractor Involvement, ensuring continuity into construction delivery.
- Administer and manage NEC4 contracts, including change control, performance monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
- Oversee financial performance, including budget management, forecasting, cash flow, and cost control.
- Prepare for and contribute to project assurance and gateway reviews, providing evidence of progress, compliance, and delivery confidence.
- Review and manage programme schedules, milestones, and key decision points.
- Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities.
- Manage configuration control, ensuring approved changes are reflected in plans, programmes, and communications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal processes, operating procedures, and governance requirements.
- Close contracts upon completion, ensuring all commercial, financial, and maintenance obligations are met.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative project team culture.

Essential
Occupational Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum 10 years’ delivery experience in construction or consultancy, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Proven experience managing construction logistics.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to challenge cost estimates and contractor proposals.
- Hands-on experience delivering projects under NEC4 contracts, including change management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience delivering projects in complex or regulated environments.
- NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation. Candidates without this qualification must be willing to complete it within the first 6 months of appointment.

- Delivery experience within a live operational or secure environment.
- Experience working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary delivery model.
- Security-related project experience (physical, procedural, or cyber elements).
- Primavera P6 knowledge.
- Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management systems.
