Salary & Contract Type
- Salary: £58,400 – £74,900 per annum
- Type: Full-time, permanent
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Project Manager to collaborate with the Senior Programme Manager for a Government client. The role involves managing multi-functional teams, ensuring the scheduling of project delivery, change delivery, and new business rollouts. You will be self-driven, capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively to achieve daily objectives while ensuring adherence to project milestones, customer KPIs, and SLAs.
This position requires:
- Exceptional communication skills—comfortable engaging directly with customers and colleagues.
- A technical background, enabling effective partnerships with technical leads to plan risks/technical solutions and deliver complex projects for the client.
- Analytical and systematic thinking to tackle project/technical challenges.
You will be responsible for aligning scope requirements, guiding teams on efficient execution, ensuring on-time, in-budget, and within-scope delivery, and managing stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination & Delivery:
- Oversee internal resources, third-party vendors, and contractors to ensure flawless project execution.
- Work with technical leads to understand and manage client requirements for complex solutions.
- Adjust project scopes, schedules, and budgets, using verification techniques to mitigate risks.

Stakeholder & Client Management:
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Escalate risks to management as necessary.
- Manage third-party vendor contracts effectively.

Documentation & Risk Management:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments to minimise project disruptions.

Resources & Compliance:
- Secure resource availability and manage allocations.
- Ensure adherence to contractual agreements and commercial obligations.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Proven project management track record in delivering multi-functional projects or task work packages.
- Familiarity with modern project methodologies, particularly:
- Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Agile/Waterfall hybrid models
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for engaging with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Technical background, ideally in software development, testing, or engineering.
- Commercial awareness (business, finance, and personnel management).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, with MS Office proficiency.
- Organisational acumen—attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adaptability under pressure.
Clearance Requirements
Prerequisites:
- Must be a UK citizen with a UK residency history of at least 5 years.
- SC (Security Clearance) requirement—eligibility will be verified. If cleared, role involves access to government-sensitive information.
