Project Manager
Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £65,492 per annum, plus £4,500 car allowance Working Hours: 39 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday Location: Abbey Vale Development Site, Widnes
Riverside seeks a Project Manager to join our growing team. We incentivise based on potential and encourage applications even if you don’t meet every requirement.
Note: No sponsorships will be offered post October 2023. All roles require valid UK work permission.
About the Role
You’ll manage large, complex multi-phase construction projects, ensuring they meet programme, budget, health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.
About You
Essential:
- 3+ years in house building site management within an established organisation
- Experience in delivering multi-phase/complex developments
- Expertise in quality and health & safety management
- Experience with customer-facing open market development sales
- Proven inspirational leadership
Desirable:
- Construction-related degree or diploma
- Postgraduate qualification in construction/related fields
Responsibilities
Pre-Development & Mobilisation
- Produce programmes, CEMPs (Construction Environmental Management Plans), and site start budgets under CDM 2015.
- Assess regulatory compliance and liaise with in-house designers.

Collaborative Leadership
- Lead teams to meet milestone deadlines and foster a collaborative culture.
Project Execution
- Coordinate cross-phase developments while ensuring legal compliance and programme accuracy.
- Monitor HSE/quality standards, inspections, and compliance via Zutec (electronic system).
- Open and resolve conflicts with subcontractors, keeping accurate records.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Execute HSE inspections and ensure shadow policies conform to government mandates.
- Drive proactive health and safety protocols, championing a culture of safety.
- Liaise with appointed advisors and the Riverside HSE team.
Resource & Subcontractor Oversight
- Supervise construction quality, material ordering, and subcontractor call-offs.
- Monitor progress weekly, manage risks, and provide mitigation/remediation plans.
Financial Adherence
- Track budget against prelim allowances and minimise day-works/variations.
- Resolve ongoing cost disputes with clear record-keeping.
Compliance & Customer Delivery
- Ensure adherence to planning approvals, highways, and environmental regulations.
- Exhibit quality leadership, including during HCC certification (HBF CCS surveys).
- Enhance customer satisfaction through 10-day post-delivery defect rectification.
Customer Engagement
- Co-host producer sales meetings and perform handover support (conjunction with Land Department).

Coordination & Efficiency
- Weekly meeting facilitation: Subcontractors and sales teams to align on programmes, cost, and quality.
- Proactively address progress technology queries to avoid rework.
Reputation & Communication
- Represent Riverside with ebp showcases (filming) and site presentations.
- Maintain strict privacy standards for sensitive information.
Regulatory Ethics
- Valid UK driving license required for flexibility.

Additional Duties: On-call procedures to safeguard operational continuity.
