Lead the Delivery of Next-Generation Technology Programmes

About the Role

Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to take the next step towards Programme Management?

Solsta’s Design & Manufacturing Division is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of customer-funded engineering projects across biomedical instrumentation, photonics, optoelectronics, defence electro-optical systems, and laser rangefinder technologies. This role offers a clear progression path into Programme Management as the division continues to grow.

You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to manage projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring delivery to schedule, budget, quality, and customer expectations while maintaining governance of Solsta’s ISO13485-aligned NPD/NPI processes.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing complex engineering projects from initiation through to manufacturing transfer.
  • Leading project planning, scheduling, risk management, and resource coordination.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across design, electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions.
  • Driving project governance and ensuring adherence to structured NPD/NPI processes.
  • Managing project risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Supporting technical reviews, validation activities, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
  • Providing structured reporting to senior leadership and customers.
  • Contributing to the development of programme management and PMO-style processes as the business grows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
