Project Manager
As a Project Manager within Mercer’s Impact team, you will lead the delivery of complex client projects, initially focused on pension communication strategies, with the ability to support broader reward and benefits communication projects. You will manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery while maintaining high-quality standards. You will act as a key liaison between clients, internal teams, and external vendors, ensuring alignment and client satisfaction. This role requires strong project management expertise, financial acumen, and excellent communication skills, with a focus on professional services delivery.
We will rely on you to:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of communication projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, set milestones, and coordinate internal and external resources effectively.
- Monitor project financials including budgets, WIP, invoice, and profitability; proactively identify and escalate risks or issues.
- Ensure quality control of all deliverables, including communication collateral, maintaining professional standards and client expectations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for project delivery.
- Understand client needs and objectives, providing strategic advice and solutions to enhance communication effectiveness.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and other Mercer Lines of Business to identify opportunities for expanded services and cross-selling.
- Support business development activities including proposal preparation, pitches, and client presentations.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within existing client accounts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales pipelines and project tracking tools.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, supporting their professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of best practices within the Impact team.

What you need to have:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Project Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in project management within professional services, ideally supporting communication projects or related fields.
- Strong understanding of pensions communications is highly desirable, with the ability to apply this knowledge to client projects.
- Proven project management skills including planning, budgeting, risk management, and resource coordination.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Financial acumen to manage project profitability and commercial considerations.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
