Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of individual projects and/or workstreams of larger programmes aimed at maintaining, enhancing and transforming AL Platforms. The Project Manager will also be required to research, evaluate, define, plan, control and manage individual projects, workstreams within larger programmes to deliver business-focused IT solutions.
The role will require a combination of business knowledge with a good understanding of the AL Platform operating models in terms of its people, operational processes and technology. The Project Manager will work within a team of multi-disciplined specialists within the Change Management whilst engaging with wider business areas & IT Platform teams to deliver change utilizing the Bank’s Change Methodology and recognised industry best practices.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of individual projects to agreed timescales, cost and quality. Ensuring that all project activity is delivered in adherence to the Bank’s Change Framework, change processes, risk controls and delivery/governance performance metrics.
- Input into the development business cases to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value are aligned with AL strategy. Whilst ensuring that individual projects are delivered in line with agreed benefits and business outcomes.
- Direct and task manage the allocated business analysts and test managers assigned to the project
- Work closely with the Senior Project Manager to ensure that resource is planned and obtained in a timely manner from a varied of IT & Platform teams as well as business functions and 3rd party suppliers to deliver agreed project outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate cost management processes are in place within individual projects to ensure that change is delivered in line with agreed budgets.
- Support supplier management and 3rd party contractual/commercial processes required for the delivery of individual projects.
- Ensure accurate project delivery plans are produced including ongoing tracking.
- Work closely with the Release Management to ensure that projects are effectively scheduled through appropriate Release and Environment Management processes.
- Work closely with PMO to ensure projects are delivered to the Change Management Standards and reporting is completed to a high quality
- Set up and facilitate relevant project governance forums to ensure stakeholders are aligned and decisions are obtained in a timely manner.
- Work closely with specialist shared service teams across IT Architecture, Information Security, and Information Privacy to ensure that technology and operational designs are aligned with all required Bank standards and policies. Ensure project lessons learned for individual projects are captured and shared with the PMO team.
- Input into the development of the Bank’s Change Management capability through active contribution to the Change Management Community practice area.
- Ensure that own knowledge is up to date and is reflective of internal and industry best practice. In terms of Change Management methodology and techniques.

Risk:
- Responsible for managing risks inherent to the project and role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures.
- Utilize effective risk control processes and practices are in place within individual projects to maintain delivery in line with defined RCSA performance metrics.
- Escalates identified risks and issues appropriately and in accordance with internal governance processes and controls.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Good understanding of Financial Services industry, specifically Wealth Management, Private Banking & Commercial Banking.
- Knowledge of AL’s Wealth Management, Private Banking & Commercial Banking proposition, products and services desirable.
- The ability to assess and understand the ‘client side of change’. Carefully managing client impact and communications within their individual projects.
- Experience of the ‘people side of change’, understanding the business and how to best implement and embed change successfully.
- Good understanding of Platform operating model including technology and operational processes.
- Proven track record in leading, developing and delivering complex technology, business and regulatory change projects.
- Matrix management experience with the ability to define and plan resource requirements at each stage of the project.
- Ability to operate autonomously & proactively.
- Commercial acumen.
- Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage self through multiple conflicting priorities, adapting to changing business demands.
- Good interpersonal & influencing skills.
- Clear, concise communication (written and verbal).
- Experience interacting at Senior Management level and influencing management on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience of testing approaches and test execution within a project environment.
- Understanding of Supplier Management and procurement processes
- Understanding of contractual and commercial negotiation processes
Skills
- Ability to execute change delivery methodologies and frameworks (Waterfall and Agile).
- Change or Project Management qualifications expected.
- Experienced in the use of project management tools & software (incl. Azure Dev Ops).
- Experience of Agile delivery methodologies and associated tools.
- Experience of project financial analysis and cost management.
- Ability to apply project analytical and decision-making techniques (e.g. options analysis/scoring techniques, root cause analysis, critical path analysis).
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (including MS Visio and MS Project).
