About The Role
Due to increased workloads we currently have exciting opportunities for Project Managers within Engineering & Infrastructure, to join our Engineering teams in Glasgow/Falkirk/Inverness. You will efficiently and safely manage multiple engineering projects, ensuring delivery of agreed outcomes while protecting the heritage and integrity of the canal network.

The role is offered on a permanent basis, working, 35 hours per week.
Primary Responsibilities Of The Role
- Plan, scope and deliver multiple engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Manage project lifecycles including planning, sequencing activities, and tracking milestones to avoid delays.
- Coordinate resources, including staff, contractors, and equipment, to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, health & safety, and CDM requirements.
- Identify and manage project risks, escalating issues where necessary.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and partners, maintaining clear communication throughout delivery.
- Ensure environmental, heritage, and sustainability considerations are embedded across all project stages.
About The Reward
This role offers a progressive starting salary of £42,709 - £46,668 (Band E) plus Standby Allowance.
Scottish Canals offer a generous annual leave entitlement of 224 hours, and 6 public holidays, along with enhanced sick pay, discounted shopping vouchers, a health cash plan, and a contributory pension scheme with up to 10% employer contribution.

About You
Qualifications and knowledge required:
- Degree (min HND/C) qualified in a relevant engineering or construction discipline.
- CEng (IEng min) or close to Professional Review submission (support will be given to progress attainment)
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and construction project delivery
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Skills And Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar project management role.
- Proven experience in managing construction contracts, including cost control and contractor performance.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
