Project Manager

Global Specialty Insurance / Financial Services Location: London / Hybrid Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus 20% bonus and benefits

Pioneer Search is working with a leading global specialty insurance business to appoint a Project Manager within their high-performing Change Delivery function.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with strong foundations in project delivery, technology implementation, business change, or insurance to transition into a long-term career within an international organisation.


The Opportunity

You will join a high-performing team committed to investing in your development. With training, mentorship, and exposure to senior leaders, you will work on impactful projects spanning:

  • Business and technology change
  • Operational improvements
  • Process redesign
  • Product launches
  • New distribution channels
  • Acquisitions
  • Strategic initiatives

The role is ideal for those who thrive working with senior stakeholders (including C-suite level), possess strong interpersonal skills, and are comfortable navigating ambiguity while developing quickly in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support project delivery across business and technology change initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align on priorities, risk management, and delivery requirements
  • Design project plans, governance frameworks, reporting structures, and delivery documentation
  • Track actions, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and benefits
  • Coordinate across business users, technology teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Facilitate workshops, project meetings, steering updates, and progress reporting
  • Ensure smooth transition of completed projects into ongoing operations (business as usual)
  • Build strong cross-functional and international relationships within the organisation

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in consulting, project delivery, business change, transformation, technology implementation, or insurance
  • Strong familiarity with structured project methodologies (e.g., structured project delivery)
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confidence in working with ambiguity and rapid learning
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to bridge business and technical teams effectively
  • Preferred: Experience in financial services, insurance, consulting, or technology-enabled change
  • Beneficial (but not essential): Exposure to PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project frameworks
