Role: Project Manager

Location: London

Mint Selection are partnered with a leading organisation within the energy sector to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major Transmission & Distribution projects across the UK.

We are looking to speak with Project Managers who have a proven track record of delivering high voltage Transmission & Distribution projects up to 400kV, with experience managing projects through the full lifecycle from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and energisation.

Scope of Work

  • Lead the safe and successful delivery of high voltage Transmission & Distribution projects up to 400kV, ensuring works are completed on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Take full responsibility for project delivery from pre-construction through to commissioning, energisation and final handover.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams including Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Planners, Commercial teams and specialist subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with National Grid, DNOs, clients, consultants, suppliers and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee project planning, procurement, programme management, commercial performance, risk management and change control.
  • Ensure all works comply with HSEQ requirements, engineering standards, contractual obligations and industry best practice.
  • Chair project progress meetings, providing regular updates on programme, commercial performance, risks and key milestones.
  • Identify and resolve technical, commercial and programme issues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work closely with construction and commissioning teams to ensure a smooth transition through energisation and project handover.

Experience to be Considered

  • Proven experience delivering Transmission & Distribution projects up to 400kV as a Project Manager.
  • Previous experience delivering National Grid, DNO, ICP or EPC substation and transmission projects is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the construction, commissioning and energisation of high voltage substations and transmission infrastructure.
  • Experience managing NEC contracts, project budgets, programmes, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across clients, contractors and supply chain partners.
  • A proactive and delivery-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities within complex project environments.

This is a long-term contract opportunity and falls outside IR35.
