A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic Substation Upgrades team as a Senior Project Manager, where you’ll lead the charge in delivering critical Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) projects across the UK and Ireland. Your day will be filled with strategic planning, hands-on leadership, and seamless coordination with technical and commercial stakeholders.
You’ll ensure every project phase, from planning to final handover, is executed with precision, focusing on Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards. With your expertise in high-voltage infrastructure and GIS technology, you’ll drive projects that align with our strategic business objectives, making a significant impact on our growth and success.
This role is based in either Newcastle upon Tyne or Leeds and you must have full permanent UK right to work to be considered.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Lead the full lifecycle of GIS projects, ensuring they meet schedule, scope, and budget objectives.
- Coordinate and control site activities, managing changes and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Direct multi-disciplinary site teams, championing HSE standards and promoting a Zero Harm culture.
- Act as the primary on-site contact, resolving issues and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Manage technical interfaces and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth project execution and handover.

What You Bring
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field advantageous.
- Proven experience in project or site management within high-voltage substation projects.
- Demonstrable expertise in GIS installation, commissioning, or service projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a relevant UK Site Safety Qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
- Strong skills in project management, risk management, and HSE management.
