Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment. We’re proud to be a key partner on the Caledonia Water Alliance and will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water to jointly deliver SR21, a six-year water and wastewater infrastructure pan Scotland capital investment programme.

What will you be doing?
- You'll be experienced in delivering strategic health, safety and environmental management to drive the highest standards.
- You'll work in a timely manner to delivery.
- Project to the agreed time, cost & quality requirements.
- Work closely with PMO planning team to build X19 contractual programmes and monitor progress, working closely with the construction team to ensure targets are understood.
- Work closely with the commercial team to understand project LBE / Target Cost / monthly forecasting and expenditure through project life cycle.
- Managing change management during project lifecycle, while driving risk management for the projects.
- Project Management of the principal subcontracts.
- Manage the SW project governance process to ensure CWA are not working at risk and the project can be delivered within the desired timescales.
- Prepare and progress reports for the CWA Management team.
- Management of the Project team, working with the CWA management team to ensure availability of suitably skilled resource.

Running a portfolio of projects
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to understand project LBE/target.
- Carry out cost/monthly forecasting and expenditure through project life cycle.
- Project management of the principal subcontracts.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
- Develop strong relationships with the SW & CWA management team.
- Deliver projects to meet key milestones reported to SW.
- Ensure design is progressed to support programme requirements.
- Ensure resources are identified, sourced & available for delivery of the projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with the wider functions to support projects delivery.
- Meet SW & CWA investment targets.
- Ensure defects are identified, recorded and closed off timeously.
- Lead incident investigations in conjunction with SHEQ.
- Set productivity stretch targets with delivery management teams.
What You’ll Bring
- Knowledge of the water, construction or utilities industry is essential.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in construction management or engineering.
- Proven track record in managing construction teams and front line managers.
- Proven track record in delivering efficiency savings.
- Proven stakeholder and customer management skills.
