Project Manager

Plant Project Manager

Role Summary

The Plant Project Manager will be responsible for managing multiple projects across the customer’s manufacturing plant, ensuring these projects are delivered within contracted timeframes, budgets, and quality standards.

Area of Responsibility

  • Manage the delivery of core Plant enablers, including:

    • Infrastructure
    • IT services
    • Hardware (H/W)
    • Applications
    • End Points
  • Support and actively contribute to established governance functions across the plant.

  • Manage Risk, Issues and Dependencies, along with Change and Release Management at a project level and establish a compliance mechanism at the Portfolio level.

  • Create Project documentation and artefacts using customer-standard templates and available online tools.

  • Manage plant dependencies, including:

    • Manufacturing
    • Supply chain
    • Logistics
    • Operations (Ops)

  • Provide guidance to typical project team members, such as:

    • Business analysts
    • Business architects
    • Solution architects
    • Developers
    • Testers (ensuring clarity on project/programme expectations)
  • Manage teams across multiple workstreams, including onshore/offshore coordination.

  • Ensure project plans and schedules are robust and optimised, effectively communicating them to the project team.

  • Responsible for people management, resourcing, and potentially managing other Project Managers on-site.

  • Identify and scope integration of existing and new systems into the plant, including:

    • SAP
    • MES
    • PLM
    • Legacy systems
  • Define roadmaps and manage delivery demands, ensuring alignment between business & IT strategies.

  • Draft and present business proposals.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Application of Project Management/Programme Management/IT Delivery concepts, including:
    • PMP
    • Prince2
    • MSP
    • Agile
    • Waterfall

  • Experienced senior manager with rapidly changing, pressurised, and diverse working environments, specialising in:

    • Automotive IT/Manufacturing Programme Management
  • Proven experience with enterprise IT systems in an automotive manufacturer.

  • Strong business analysis and stakeholder/vendor management skills at all levels.

  • Technical infrastructure and application development experience.

  • Strategic planning and risk/opportunity assessment skills.

  • Ability to build and refine project team capabilities through coaching and talent development, considering:

    • Skills
    • Knowledge
    • Experience

  • Disciplined approach to customer billing processes.
