Commercial Project Manager – Heathrow Airport

About the Role
Heathrow Airport is the UK's leading international airport, and its commercial success depends on maintaining flexibility, efficiency, and profitability. As a Commercial Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in the Commercial team, responsible for driving value through property, retail, passenger services, parking, and aeronautical projects—ensuring all initiatives align with Heathrow’s standards while meeting regulatory and operational requirements.
The Commercial Projects team oversees fit-outs and projects that enable growth for tenants, concessionaires, and partners. You’ll ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of these projects while balancing agility with stringent fulfilment of Heathrow’s standards.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to capture user requirements and secure approvals.
- Ensure projects align with scheduled deadlines while navigating regulatory obligations.

Project Execution & Governance
- Lead end-to-end project planning, including defining clear goals, roles, and deliverables to ensure cost-effective delivery.
- Maintain value for money in all expenditures and ensure optimal resource allocation.
Safety & Compliance
- Assume overall project safety responsibility, safeguarding all personnel involved in fit-outs and construction.
Technical Integration & Delivery Coordination
- Oversee the integration of design, development, construction, commissioning, and operational processes, leveraging internal subject matter experts for seamless execution.
- Facilitate alignment between contractors, contractors, and Heathrow internal stakeholders.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor and report on project performance using established systems and transparent communication channels.
Handover & Validation
- Ensure commissioning, testing, and handover of project deliverables meet Heathrow’s exacting standards.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of building stakeholder trust and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles, governance frameworks, and delivery methodologies.
- Experience in risk management, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks (with evidence of successful application).
- Hands-on experience in a commercial or contractual environment with an awareness of financial and budgetary impact.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on numerical rigor.
- Rigorous attention to detail in documentation, compliance, and process adherence.
