Project Manager - Berkshire / Hampshire Region
Salary: £66,000 - £75,000 + Car Allowance + Package
Location: Berkshire / Hampshire / Surrounding Counties

Contractor: Regional Main Contractor
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established, family-owned regional main contractor based in Berkshire. The business has a strong reputation across the M4 corridor and surrounding counties, delivering a wide range of projects across the commercial, leisure, industrial, education, healthcare, refurbishment and new build sectors. They are known for their hands-on approach, strong client relationships and consistent delivery of quality projects.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to appoint a Project Manager to take responsibility for one of several upcoming schemes, which include:
- £6m commercial scheme - Hampshire
- £4.6m leisure scheme - Berkshire
- £7m industrial scheme - Berkshire / Oxford
The projects will involve a mix of new build and refurbishment works, depending on the scheme, and will require someone confident managing the full delivery process from mobilisation through to completion.
The Company
The contractor is a long-established regional business with a strong presence across Berkshire, Hampshire and the wider South. They deliver projects across a range of sectors and have built much of their reputation through repeat business, negotiated work and long-standing client relationships.

They are not a large corporate contractor with multiple layers of management. Instead, they offer a more personal, collaborative environment where senior management are accessible and project teams are trusted to take ownership. Their work is typically focused on projects ranging from smaller works through to multi-million-pound schemes, with a strong emphasis on programme, quality, budget control and client satisfaction.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a new build or refurbishment project from early stages through to completion.
You will lead the site team, manage subcontractors, control the programme and ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the delivery of a new build or refurbishment project
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Oversee programme, quality, health & safety and project progress
- Work closely with commercial, design and planning teams
- Lead progress meetings and provide clear updates to senior management
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships throughout the project
- Identify project risks early and implement practical solutions
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget and quality expectations
- Oversee final handover, snagging and successful project completion

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, or a strong Senior Site Manager ready to step up
- Experience delivering projects in the £4m-£8m+ range
- Main contractor background
- Experience across commercial, leisure, industrial, education, healthcare or refurbishment schemes
- Strong programme, site management and subcontractor coordination skills
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and consultants
- Ability to manage multiple trades and keep projects moving forward
- SMSTS, CSCS Manager level and First Aid preferred
- Full UK driving licence
