Your New Role – What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Manager in our Local Government team, you’ll take the lead on a variety of structures and highways projects that improve everyday life for people across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the successful delivery of structures and highways projects from inception to completion.
- Manages multidisciplinary resources to provide:
- Investigations
- Feasibility studies
- Detailed design
- Tender documentation
- Inspections
- Data analysis
- Construction supervision
- Prepares progress reports and attends client review meetings.
- Builds strong relationships with project stakeholders, aligning expectations and ensuring transparent communication.
- Applies expertise in Health, Safety and Welfare and adheres to CDM responsibilities.
- Champions project management excellence and drives innovation.
- Maintains compliance with ISO standards, client procedures, and WSP’s business management system.

Requirements
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in highways or structures
- Experience preparing contract documents
- APM or PRINCE2 qualifications (desirable)
- Strong commercial and financial project management skills
- Experience managing project management activities, systems, and processes
- Confidence in engaging with clients and stakeholders
- Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Welfare, and CDM Regulations
- Exceptional organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
