Project Manager
Project Manager - Distributed Energy Infrastructure
Location: UK (remote, with infrequency of site travel required) Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term (Strong permanent potential) Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (with slight flexibility for exceptional experience)
The Opportunity
I am partnering exclusively with a leading sustainable asset developer and operator to recruit a structured Project Manager to lead a fast-growing infrastructure pipeline.
This net-zero-related business specializes in decentralized low-carbon energy infrastructure and localized distribution assets across the UK. Their remit spans from design and capital funding through to construction and long-term management of complex energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients.
As they expand, they require a senior project delivery professional with expertise in multi-site asset rollouts and managing intricate commercial frameworks.
The Role
This role sits within the central program management function, with a focus on cross-functional alignment and commercial governance. Successfully in this position will involve:
- Serving as the key interface between internal teams, external corporate clients, and technical partners.
- Guiding projects from initial contracting to operational handover while ensuring accountability and momentum.
- Repprising a high-impact green energy assets in a fast-developing environment with a lean, scalable team.

Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Portfolio Delivery
- Manage 2–3 major delivery pipelines simultaneously, focusing on large-scale, multi-site infrastructure schemes.
- Ensure alignment between pipeline strategy and project execution across teams.
Interface Coordination
- Act as the central liaison for:
- Technical designers
- Corporate clients
- Consultants
- Sub-contractors (EPC partners)
Strict Project Governance
- Maintain and optimise core project tracking tools, including:
- Master schedules
- Risk registers
- Milestone reporting
Commercial & Financial Control
- Review complex commercial contracts and manage document control systems.
- Handle variations and change management, protecting capital margins.
Stage-Gate Management
- Assist investment decision frameworks by achieving required technical and corporate sign-offs at critical phase gates.

What You Need to Bring
Sector Expunge
- Proven experience managing physical asset delivery in:
- Renewable energy
- Construction
- Utilities
- Complex infrastructure sectors
Technical Breadth
- Experience working with low to high-voltage power systems, including:
- Solar PV systems
- Electrical networks
- Energy storage technologies
- Distribution-connected infrastructure
Project Scale & Metrics
- Ability to manage projects ranging from 0.5 MW to 50+ MW.
- Proficiency in low and high-voltage distribution asset contexts.
Execution Mindset
- Reliable, self-starter temperament with:
- A focus on momentum in the face of complexity
- Experience delivering in fast-changing environments without bureaucratic obstacles
Qualifications (Desirable)
- Formal project management certifications:
- APM
- PRINCE2
- PMP
- (or equivalent qualifications)
