Project Manager - Arb Utility
Project Manager – Arb Utility Division (East Midlands)
Location: Field-based in the East Midlands (Derby & Coventry) Salary: Competitive Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to support the Contract Delivery Manager in our Arb Utility division at Ground Control. You will be responsible for managing the operation of an assigned programme of tree works around power lines and pylons within the East Midlands.
Key Details:
- Approximately 3/4 days in the field, 1/2 day based at home
- Driving is essential (a valid driving licence is required)
- Full training will be provided
Your focus will be on driving consistent and innovative delivery while ensuring groundbreaking standards in safety, environmental compliance, quality, customer service, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves overseeing projects with strict accountability for:
- Safety, quality, performance, budget adherence, timelines, and client satisfaction
- Efficient communication with the Project Coordinator and Commercial Delivery Manager
- Timely reporting and clear communication of project status
- Optimising team resources – ensuring tree-cutting teams are effectively utilised
- Planning and management of programmes of work, checklists, and schedules
- Resolving delays (including obtaining client consents where needed)

Requirements & Eligibility
Experience & Skills
- Field-based experience (preferably in the Arb industry, but open to candidates from Surveying, Installation Engineering, or ex-military roles)
- Negotiation and influencing skills (powerful in a field-based environment)
- Competent IT skills (experience with scheduling/programming software a plus)
- Strong team management, organisation, and prioritisation in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement
