Project Manager
Location: Bournemouth
We are recruiting for a Project Manager on behalf of a leading organisation within the Water and Wastewater sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Project Manager Role
You will be responsible for managing the design, construction, commissioning and handover of projects from initial conception through to client acceptance. Working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining excellent health & safety standards and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of multi-disciplinary design and construction projects from tender handover through to completion
- Promote exceptional Health & Safety standards across all direct and subcontracted workforce
- Ensure project plans, construction programmes and method statements are developed, approved and implemented
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners
- Monitor project performance, ensuring delivery against programme, budget and quality targets
- Manage commercial aspects of projects, providing accurate forecasts, estimates and cost control
- Identify and manage project risks, opportunities and change throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure all project documentation and completion records are maintained and available at handover
- Report site non-conformances and monitor corrective actions
- Lead governance reviews and provide regular project updates to senior management
- Coordinate project resources to ensure successful delivery
- Support continuous improvement and professional development by keeping up to date with industry developments
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and construction regulations throughout project delivery

About You
- Experienced Project Manager with a proven track record delivering multi-disciplinary construction or engineering projects
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage project teams
- Strong communication skills with experience managing client and stakeholder relationships
- Delivery focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve project objectives
- Commercially aware with excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and contract administration
- Working knowledge of Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulations and Health & Safety legislation
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in Construction, Engineering, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
- Experience delivering projects within the Water or Utilities sector is highly desirable
- Knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts with experience administering construction contracts
- Experience presenting at project governance reviews
- Chartered status and NEC Project Manager Accreditation would be advantageous
