Project Manager (Residential Solar) | Reading | Office-Based
Full-time, Permanent
We're working with a well-established and respected renewable energy installer with a busy, growing pipeline of residential solar projects across Berkshire and the South East. They're now looking for an organised, proactive Project Manager to join their operations team at their Reading office and keep installations running like clockwork.
The Role
This is the engine room of the operation. Working from the office, you'll be the central point that keeps multiple domestic solar installs moving from booking through to handover. You'll schedule jobs, coordinate trades, order materials, and stay on top of the paperwork so that every project lands on time and every customer feels looked after. It's a fast-paced, detail-heavy role for someone who likes juggling plates and getting things done.
What you'll be doing
- Scheduling & logistics: Booking in solar PV, battery, and EV charger installations across the home counties, coordinating dates for scaffolding, installers, and electricians so every job runs in the right order.
- Materials & procurement: Ordering panels, inverters, and associated kit, tracking deliveries, and making sure crews have everything they need on site before they arrive.
- Customer communication: Acting as a friendly point of contact for homeowners by phone and email, confirming dates, sharing updates, and explaining what happens next in plain English.
- Documentation & compliance: Managing project paperwork including MCS certificates and DNO applications (G98/G99), keeping the CRM accurate and up to date, and making sure records are complete for customer handover.
- Team support: Working closely with surveyors, project managers, and install teams to smooth out any bumps and keep the pipeline flowing.

- Experience in a coordination, scheduling, or operations support role, ideally within solar, renewables, construction, or a trades environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage lots of moving parts and deadlines at once.
- Confident, warm communication skills for dealing with customers and coordinating trades.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel) and CRM systems.
- Any familiarity with solar PV, MCS standards, or DNO processes (G98/G99) is a real bonus, but the right attitude and organisational ability matter most.
