TEXO Recruitment is sourcing on behalf of a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their senior management team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards .The successful candidate will lead project teams from pre-construction through to completion, overseeing programming, labour management, subcontractor coordination, cost control, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards while ensuring a defect-free handover upon project completion .Key Responsibilitie sWork closely with the senior management team and supporting departments to deliver business objectives .Take overall responsibility for the management and delivery of assigned projects, including programme management, budget control, labour management, and subcontractor performance .Contribute to strategic planning discussions and support the continuous improvement of operational processes across the business .Champion Quality and Health & Safety standards, leading by example across all project activities .Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and development support to direct reports, identifying training and development needs where appropriate .Develop detailed construction programmes from tender-stage schedules, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and deadlines are met or exceeded .Monitor progress through regular programme reviews and weekly progress reporting .Liaise with design teams to manage information requirements, coordinate work package schedules, and chair design team meetings as required .Collaborate with site management, subcontractors, consultants, and designers to proactively resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum .Ensure compliance with integrated management systems (IMS) and quality management procedures, implementing effective quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle .Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and Health & Safety compliance .Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, building regulations, and safety requirements .Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, warranty providers, and other stakeholders to ensure services and approvals are delivered in line with project programmes .Ensure all statutory notices, safety signage, and workplace compliance requirements are maintained on site .Assess labour and material requirements and work alongside operational and procurement teams to secure necessary resources .Oversee site requisitions for materials, plant, and equipment, ensuring accuracy and cost control .Manage subcontractors from procurement through to final account, monitoring performance, quality, safety, and contractual compliance .Chair and attend subcontractor and project coordination meetings as required .Investigate site incidents, delays, or damages and implement corrective actions where necessary .Prepare and present project updates at weekly contract meetings and monthly management reviews .Attend project pre-start, progress, technical, and client meetings as required .Work collaboratively with commercial teams to ensure projects remain profitable, supporting cost reviews and providing accurate monthly reporting information .Lead project close-out activities, including completion of operation and maintenance manuals, defect management, project archiving, and performance reviews .Ensure all quality procedures are implemented effectively, delivering projects in accordance with drawings, specifications, and client expectations .Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the successful delivery of projects and business objectives .Candidate Requirement sProven experience managing civil engineering and construction projects from inception through to completion .Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams .Excellent programme management, planning, and organisational abilities .Strong commercial awareness and experience working closely with quantity surveying and commercial functions .Thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation, quality standards, and construction best practice .Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills .Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities .This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected civil engineering contractor offering long-term career progression and the chance to deliver high-profile projects within a supportive and professional environment
