Project Manager (Engineering and Construction)
- Salary: £61,672 - £71,811 (Plus up to 10% supplement)
- Job Grade: Level 5 Zone 2
- Work Location: Unit 1B, Berol House, 25 Ashley Road, London, N17 9LJ
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager (Engineering and Construction) to lead the delivery of the North London Heat and Power Project (NLHPP).
As a member of North London Waste Authority (NLWA), you will be based in Edmonton EcoPark while employed by London Borough of Camden. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, environmentally sustainable infrastructure across seven North London boroughs, serving over two million residents.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a nationally significant programme that champions community pride, social value, and environmental excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across engineering, procurement, and construction
- Manage quality assurance, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure seamless transition during operational handover to London Energy Ltd
- Drive social value outcomes, including apprenticeships, local employment, and community benefits
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of expert delivery partners
- Ensure compliance with public sector regulations, environmental policies, and health & safety standards

Requirements
You must be a degree-qualified project professional with a strong track record in:
- Delivering multi-million-pound infrastructure projects from design to operation
- Understanding the complexities of waste management and energy recovery systems
- Managing safety, quality, and stakeholder relationships in a public sector environment
Key Experience & Competencies:
You will demonstrate a strong background in:
- Complex, large-scale project delivery (preferably within infrastructure, energy, or construction)
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and operational integration
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with contract frameworks (e.g., NEC, IChemE) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
- A collaborative, proactive approach with a clear focus on public value
Ideally, you will hold a recognised project management qualification, such as:
- PRINCE2 / APM
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
