Arriva TrainCare – Bristol Barton Hill TMD
37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
We’re looking for a motivated and organised Project Manager to join our team at our Bristol Barton Hill depot. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering a variety of projects across our maintenance and facilities operations.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you’ll take ownership of projects from start to finish, ensuring they’re delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard for our customers.
What you’ll be doing
As a Project Manager, you’ll lead projects through their full lifecycle – from initial planning right through to successful delivery and handover. You’ll:
- Manage a range of projects across heavy maintenance, light maintenance, and facilities
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
- Create and maintain project plans to keep everything on track
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, and project performance
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and project changes
- Lead project meetings and drive actions through to completion
- Produce clear reports and performance updates
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help drive efficiencies
- Contribute to operational planning, including capacity and pipeline activity

- Experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, or Project Manager role
- A background in engineering, manufacturing, rail, or a similar operational environment (desirable)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
- Experience with project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project – desirable)
Qualifications
- Project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, or similar) – essential
- Lean / Six Sigma knowledge – desirable
- Leadership or management training – a bonus
