Project Manager - Engineering

Project Manager – WGM Engineering (RSK Group)

Innovative Engineering Solutions | Water & Infrastructure | Redhill, Surrey (Hybrid)

About the Role

The Project Manager will lead technically complex infrastructure projects for WGM Engineering—part of RSK Group—delivering water, industrial, and essential infrastructure solutions across the UK. Responsible for end-to-end project delivery, from mobilisation to final handover, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and supporting WGM’s growth agenda.

As the bridge between multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders, you’ll ensure projects are executed safely, within budget, and to the highest standards—contributing to a projects portfolio where engineering precision meets business impact.

Why WGM?

  • Growth & Ownership: Lead high-stakes projects in regulated environments while shaping your career in a dynamic, future-focused business.
  • Scale + Specialism: Leverage the operational support of RSK Group with the hands-on expertise of a niche engineering partner.
  • Purpose-Driven Work: Make a tangible difference in critical infrastructure—water, utilities, and industrial sectors—that underpin communities.

Key Responsibilities

Your role demands strategic leadership and operational expertise. You will:

Project Leadership

  • Own all project phases: From contract award/mobilisation through commissioning, development, and final handover (completion, handover, client acceptance).
  • Set and deliver against targets: Ensure timely, cost-effective, high-quality outcomes while maintaining adherence to contractual, HSEQ, and regulatory standards.

Planning & Coordination

  • Develop and manage:
    • Project programmes, budgets, risk registers, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Scope, resource, and timeline planning, balancing commercial realities with technical execution.
  • Lead multidisciplinary collaboration:
    • Coordinate engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and HSEQ teams.
    • Align stakeholder roles, ensuring accountability across subcontractors, suppliers, and in-house expertise.

Performance & Commercial Management

  • Monitor project health:
    • Track programme, cost, risk, and commercial performance against benchmarks.
    • Implement corrective action plans for scope changes, variations, and EOTs (Extent of Temporary Deviations).
  • Stakeholder & Client Relations:
    • Act as the principal contact for clients and partners, managing communications, expectations, and escalation pathways.
    • Work with commercial teams to model forecasts, cost variations, NEC contract compliance, and EOTs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
