About the Role
We are expanding our Environmental Project Management team and are excited to welcome Project Managers into our comprehensive Project, Programme Management, and PMO community.
In this role, you will take an active role in delivering multi-disciplinary environmental projects. You’ll collaborate closely with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Additionally, you will gain exposure to a diverse and impactful project portfolio across the UK, serving both public and private sector clients.
Our team comprises roles in PMO, Project Controls, Project Management, and Project Direction, covering every stage of the project lifecycle. You will have the chance to:
- Take ownership of smaller projects.
- Contribute to larger programmes and portfolios.
- Build a career-long experience that allows you to progress toward a Senior Environmental Project Manager role.

Your Responsibilities
Project Development & Execution
- Support project proposals by defining requirements, scope, resourcing, programmes, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, such as:
- Project plans
- Cost forecasts
- Risk registers
- Schedules
- Actively manage smaller projects while supporting complex, larger initiatives.
Project Governance
- Monitor progress proactively to align projects with timelines and agreed targets.
- Track project finances, including time, budgets, forecasts, and spending, ensuring alignment with project stages.
- Ensure health and safety compliance for site visits, including approval processes.
Collaboration & Contribution
- Support contract management and administration tasks to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Handle risk and change management while staying aligned with contractual requirements and governance standards.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, fostering the development of colleagues and suppliers.

Requirements
To apply, you should demonstrate the following:
- Experience: Having worked as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager within an environmental or sustainability environment, either within project or PMO settings.
- Technical Competencies:
- A strong grasp of programme management principles, including Work Breakdown Structures, dependencies, and critical path.
- Ability to interpret MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management tools.
- Familiarity with budget management, cost tracking, and change control.
- Preference for those with experience using Professional Services Contracts (such as NEC3/NEC4).
- Communication Skills:
- Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication, keeping teams and stakeholders informed.
- Professional Affiliations:
- Working towards, or holding membership of, a relevant professional body (e.g., PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS), with a pathway toward chartered status desirable.
- Passion for the Environment:
- An interest in environmental or sustainable land development, coupled with a proactive mindset and genuine eagerness to grow your career.
