Project Manager (Environment)

Environmental Project Manager – Growth Opportunity at WSP

What if you could shape a career as unique as you?

At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach, discovery of new challenges, and the diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.

About the Role

We’re growing our Environmental Project Management team and are excited to welcome Project Managers into our Project, Programme Management, and PMO community.

As a Environmental Project Manager, you’ll play a key part in delivering multi-disciplinary environmental projects. You’ll work closely with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to ensure projects are safe, on track, and within budget. You’ll gain exposure to a varied and meaningful portfolio across the UK, supporting both public and private sector clients.

Our team spans PMO, Project Controls, Project Management, and Project Director roles, covering every stage of the project lifecycle. You’ll take ownership of smaller projects, support on larger programs, and gain the breadth and experience to grow your career.

Beyond project delivery, there’s opportunity to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to team development, and shape the future of our Environmental Project Management capability.

You’ll join a supportive, collaborative team that invests in development and provides space to learn, grow, and succeed.

Our work is impactful and often nationally significant, including contributions to major programs like National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade, Heathrow Expansion, East–West Rail, or Sizewell C, alongside projects shaping communities.

If you enjoy structure in complexity and rival occasional spreadsheets, you’ll thrive here.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Support the development of project proposals, defining scope, requirements, resourcing, programme, and budget for successful delivery.
  • Create and maintain structured project documentation, including:
    • Project plans
    • Cost forecasts
    • Risk registers
    • Schedules (Ownership of smaller projects and support of Senior Project Managers on larger, complex initiatives.)
  • Monitor progress and drive delivery against timelines.
  • Manage day-to-day project costs: time tracking, budgets, forecasts, and spend to ensure alignment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
