Project Manager (Environment)

Individuals ready to shape their career? Here at WSP, we’re exciting new possibilities as an Environmental Project Manager in our expanding team.

About the Role

At WSP, we’re all about growth and impact. As we expand our Environmental Project Management team, we’re seeking passionate Project Managers to join our Project, Programme, and PMO community.

Your influence will drive multi-disciplinary environmental projects—collaborating with Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to ensure projects stay safe, on budget, and timely. You’ll dive into a diverse portfolio of work across the UK, serving both public and private sector clients.

Take ownership of smaller projects while contributing to larger programmes, building a career path from Project Manager to Senior Environmental Project Manager. You’ll also mentor junior colleagues, shape team development, and lead our Environmental Project Management capability.

Join a supportive, collaborative team invested in your growth, guiding you toward success—be it through training, mentorship, or professional development opportunities.

What You’ll Do Daily

You’re the backbone of project delivery, balancing structure with impact—from spreadsheets to spreadsheets (meaningful actions, of course!). Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing project proposals – Define scope, timelines, costs, and requirements for successful delivery.
  • Project documentation – Create and maintain plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, and schedules. Step up as project leader for smaller tasks or assist Senior PMs on complex programmes.
  • Keeping projects on track – Monitor progress, align deliveries with timelines and budgets, and drive efficiency.
  • Cost and change management – Track budgets, time, and spend; manage risks and changes to keep projects within scope.
  • Ensuring health and safety – Secure approvals for site visits and enforce compliance standards.
  • Contract management – Streamline administration to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
  • Coordinating stakeholders – Bridge gaps between disciplines, partners, and suppliers while championing environmental outcomes (sustainability, net-zero goals).
  • Relationship-building – Represent the Environment and Consuits team, acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and internal teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
