Project Manager for Crypto & Security Competence Center (m/f/d)
Experienced Project Manager (Crypto and Security)
About the Role
You will be an integral member of the Project Management Office for the Competence Center for Crypto and Security, a central organisation within NXP that drives and develops security solutions.
As a Project Manager, your responsibility will be to:
- Represent the Crypto and Security Group in Product Development Teams
- Coordinate all security-related activities
- Clearly communicate schedule, risks, and issues for appropriate and timely resolution
Responsibilities
- Security Group Representative: On Product Development projects from concept to security certification, tracking security-related activities.
- Methodology Support: Help Product Development Teams apply the Competence Center for Crypto and Security Project Methodology.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Facilitate project calls with global cross-functional teams to drive progress and resolve security issues.
- Act as the first line of contact for escalation of security issues.
- Reporting: Write Security Group Reports for Project Milestone Reviews.
- Planning & Oversight:
- Create top-level project plans with milestones, timelines, and ownership.
- Ensure security goals are met and plans stay on track.
- Identify, question, and mitigate security risks.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Security Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Solid experience in project management, particularly within the semiconductor industry.
- Proven ability to work with proactive and solution-oriented leadership.
- Experience with Project Management tools such as MS Project or similar.

Technical & Industry Knowledge
- General understanding of embedded system design and architectural definition.
- Preferred: Knowledge of security concepts, standards (ISO 21434 and IEC 62443), and cryptography.
Soft Skills & Behaviours
- Strong systematic skills and ability to thrive in complex environments.
- Proven team leadership, with a solution-oriented mindset and capability to track status quo.
- Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and comfort with ownership in ambiguous situations.
- Willingness to travel when necessary (typically 1–2 times per year).
Location & Reporting
- Primary Locations: Glasgow (UK) or Gratkorn (Austria)
- Reports to: Head of the Crypto and Security Project Management Office
Team Environment
The NXP Security Project Management team comprises a global, diverse group of experienced project managers. Collaborating across:
- Security stakeholders in the Crypto and Security Group
- Product Development Engineers and Managers Goal: Ensure security by design across multiple product developments and business lines.

- Responsibilities may include direct security-related tasks and certification activities.
- Requires a conscience and reliable working approach.

Remuneration & Benefits
For Gratkorn (Austria)
- Compensation: Market-competitive, aligned with semiconductor industry standards (CBÁ “Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Gewerbe und Handwerk und in der Dienstleistung”).
- Employment Grade: Full-time role in Grade V after 6 years of service.
