Job Summary
The Project Manager L2 is responsible for leading packages to deliver the agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality requirements. Guides and coordinates with all relevant parties to understand and deliver project objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team.
Key Responsibilities
- To support and report to the Project Manager L1 or Senior Project Manager in all the elements related to the construction, programme of works and commercial issues of the works.
- Responsible for the co-ordination between the construction, design, procurement, and commercial departments to ensure the sub-contractors can progress work on site in accordance with the schedule of works.
- Ensure that client requirements are met, ensuring that all quality, assurance, and compliance documentation is provided in a timely manner, collaborating with relevant parties/stakeholders.
- Assist a high performing team through the setting of clear SMART targets via the team plan and complying with the performance management process for all team members.
- Ensure works are monitored to achieve right first-time and undertaking lessons learnt reviews to promote continuous improvement, while maintaining daily records.
- Support the construction team with the technical and engineering aspects of the works, in particular method statements, ITPs (Inspection Test Plan), construction process, engineering specifications, set out and measurement and quality control, certificate and compliance.
- Closely monitor the progress of the package works, reporting on actual cost, forecast, and highlighting any problems and issues for resolution to the Project Package Lead.
- Develop and manage readiness planning for commencing works including ensuring all permits are in place before commencing activities.
- Determine and arrange project technical services and external resources required for the project.
- Oversee package timeframes and budgets, ensuring successful delivery of projects, highlighting any risks, challenges, and mitigations.
- Participate in and records relevant meetings, providing relevant parties with contextual information and analysis, including regular site walks.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders being involved in risk management and mitigation treatments.
- Document and take ownership of project changes as and when necessary, tracking project changes and ensuring they are processed and formalised within the agreed timeframes.
- Ensure all approved handover documentation is coordinated and provided prior to practical completion.
- Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Qualifications, Certifications And Experience
- Proven experience in project management, managing small to medium sized projects.
- MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE (or working towards) or local equivalent.
- Developing experience in the construction delivery phase of projects.
- Appropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card (or local equivalent).
Technical Competencies
- Working knowledge and expertise in specific project/role.
- Developed communication, presentation and project planning and development skills (using appropriate tools).
- Developing budgetary oversight expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in communicating, coordinating activities, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Influencing and negotiation.
- Problem solving and analytical thinking.
- Proven understanding of project management methodologies and practices.
- Proven understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Technical expertise in Health and Safety Executive (HSE) (or local equivalent) rules and specific sector/ market regulations relevant to project portfolio.
- To promote and champion DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assemble) and off-site fabrication where possible.
