Procter Street is delighted to be partnering with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple highways and infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality civil engineering schemes for a diverse client base, including Local Authorities and Tier 1 Main Contractors.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of numerous live projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, site teams, and commercial functions, you'll play a key role in maintaining strong relationships while driving operational excellence across a varied portfolio of highways and infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of multiple highways and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with Local Authorities and Main Contractors.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial and technical teams to maximise project success.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering sector.
  • Strong background delivering highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on schemes for Local Authorities and/or Tier 1 Main Contractors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant industry qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid) and a full UK driving licence are desirable.
