Major Connections Project Manager

Location: Marlow, Buckinghamshire (Hybrid Working)

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Major Connections Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major electrical connection projects across HV and EHV networks. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects while developing and leading high-performing teams.

The Role

As Major Connections Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple HV and EHV connection projects from inception through to completion.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and lead project teams, fostering a positive and high-performance culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, DNOs, IDNOs, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Manage commercial and contractual aspects of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate materials, logistics, plant, and site resources across multiple projects.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, DNO requirements, quality standards, and health & safety procedures.
  • Prepare project reports, documentation, and handover packs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery and customer experience.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience managing major electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HV and EHV power networks.
  • Experience working with UK DNOs such as UKPN, SSEN, or equivalent network operators.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial, contract, and risk management experience.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in project management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to make sound decisions under pressure and travel to project sites when required.

Essential Requirements

  • EHV DNO and/or Tier 1 contractor experience.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering major electrical connections or power infrastructure projects.

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, APM, PMP, or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Operational experience within the utilities or power sector.
