Job Opportunity: Part-time Project Manager at GIRFT Projects Directorate

The GIRFT (Getting it Right First Time) Projects Directorate at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital is looking for a part-time, home based, project manager to join a team delivering GIRFT and related projects for a range of customers. The projects are commercial and are sourced from customers who do not come under the umbrella of the nationally funded GIRFT programme run out of NHSE. Customers range from independent sector providers to national health services and can be UK or overseas based.

This is a key role in the development of the projects department of GIRFT PD, which was formally set up after the main GIRFT England program moved from the RNOH to NHSE in mid-2021. The role will be demanding and exciting, as you will play a major part in the growth of GIRFT PD, delivering high quality projects for a range of customers in the UK and possibly overseas.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of projects for GIRFT Projects @ RNOH. They will co-ordinate and deliver a series of structured, quality projects, using appropriate tools and resources to deliver against the proposal expectations, including Artificial Intelligence tools, to improve productivity. Projects are all in the healthcare sector and are data driven and clinically led.

  • Lead on the drafting of development proposals, terms of reference and related content and costings of a suite of commercial Projects.
  • Identify key activities and associated costs, securing quotes from third party suppliers for project work.
  • Develop comprehensive and cohesive plans (including comms and engagement plans), consistent with project timetables.
  • Manage client relations to achieve alignment on scopes of work for potential projects, ensuring all project approvals are in place before commencement.
  • Ensure that projects maintain business focus, have clear authority and that the context, including risks, are actively managed.
  • Identify, assess and manage the main project priorities including the development of all project resources.
  • Pro-actively manage stakeholders, resolving any conflicts through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Deliver projects on time, to quality standards and to agreed costs.
  • Lead on organising peer review visits whether virtual or face to face.
  • Design, develop and deliver webinars for clients.
  • Deal appropriately with very sensitive information about performance and change within each of the project areas.
  • Use Artificial Intelligence tools to improve productivity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
