Talented people are the key to our success.
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Project Manager to join our Rail business unit, supporting the delivery of a station enhancement scheme on the DLR at Pontoon Dock. This role carries significant leadership responsibility and will report directly to the Senior Project Manager, contributing to the successful delivery of Transport for London construction works.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Oversee project mobilisation, including establishing the site compound, procuring subcontractors, and onboarding new team members.
- Provide strong health, safety, and compliance leadership across all project activities.
- Manage project risks, quality assurance, and adherence to legislative and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate project forecasting, cost control, and financial performance reporting.
- Deliver timely programme updates and ensure construction activities align with agreed schedules.
- Provide effective leadership, mentoring, and development for the project team.
- Manage stakeholders and key interfaces, fostering positive communication and collaborative working.
- Oversee contract and supply chain management to ensure best value and effective delivery.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- BEng (hons) Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Civil Infrastructure experience is a must
- Proven Project Management or Site Agent experience, ideally within rail station build or Airport construction projects.
- TfL and DLR experience advantageous but not essential.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent construction knowledge and understanding of multi-disciplinary project delivery.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, programmes, and project risks.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant technical discipline.
- Solid understanding of legislative compliance, including health & safety, environmental and employment law.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to assess value and evaluate variations.
