Project Manager - North

Projects Engineer – HVAC & Process Cooling (On-Site, 5 Days Per Week)

Position Overview

The Projects Engineer will act as a trusted technical advisor to sales teams, clients, and subcontractors, ensuring seamless delivery of customised solutions that meet customer needs.

Core objectives:

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with sales, customers, and suppliers.
  • Deliver high-standard project execution, from design to commissioning.
  • Ensure technical compliance, health & safety, and financial integrity across projects.

Key Responsibilities

Customer & Stakeholder Relationships

  • Oversee procurement of all project equipment and subcontracts within your portfolio.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in technical negotiations, calls, and site visits, translating complex engineering into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide costings and quotes during installation projects and sales engagements.
  • Manage customer expectations through transparent, real-time updates during fast-paced projects.

Internal Controls & Process Management

  • Review and finalise project designs at commercial level, ensuring feasibility and value.
  • Facilitate project handover meetings to confirm scope, timelines, and requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans and troubleshoot technical issues proactively.
  • Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors to meet project deadlines and standards.
  • Provide technical support to customers and sales teams, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Oversee installations and commissioning of industrial cooling systems, verifying technical correctness.
  • Manage on-site teams/engineers, ensuring adherence to contracts, health & safety, and deadlines.
  • Assign resources and set clear responsibilities.
  • Conduct financial tracking (budgeting, cost controls) and risk mitigation.
  • Identify and rectify design flaws throughout project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Capabilities

  • Experience in manufacturing/procurement industry (advantageous).
  • Background in Project Engineering (approved).
  • Intermediate-level Project Management with commercial experience.
  • Strong problem-solving & analytical skills—comfortable working independently.
  • Excelent communication (written & verbal), with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally when required.
  • Valid Right-to-Work status for the applicable country.
  • UK driver’s license.
