About the Role
Reporting to an Operations Manager, this Project Manager role is responsible for leading and delivering operation and maintenance (O&M) services for offshore renewable energy assets.
Key assets managed:
- Offshore meteorological masts
- Wind turbines
- Offshore transmission assets (including onshore/offshore substations, foundations and subsea cables)
The Project Manager must ensure these services are delivered: ✅ Safely ✅ On time ✅ Within budget ✅ In line with contractual, regulatory, and technical standards
Organisational Context
This is a client-facing role, requiring strong communication across:
- RES clients
- Internal technicians
- External contractors

You’ll work closely with:
- Offshore and UK&I O&M teams
- HV Services, HSQE, Technical & Engineering departments
Key Responsibilities
Core Project Management
- Lead the planning and delivery of offshore and onshore scheduled work.
- Produce and track budgets, manage contract variations, and process invoicing.
- Ensure all contractual and regulatory obligations are met (e.g., statutory inspections).
- Draft and review risk assessments and method statements.
- Procure third-party services, tools, and equipment.
Execution of Maintenance Work
- Project manage (and occasionally deliver):
- Inspection & planned maintenance for onshore/offshore assets.
- Reactive maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
- On-site audits and technical evaluations.
- Issue comprehensive reports to clients.
Offshore & Team Leadership
- Project manage planned and reactive offshore activities.
- Lead onshore/offshore teams in the execution of technical work.
- Plan maintenance—including challenging difficult-access sites.
- On-call obligation: Support emergency response outside of standard hours, which may require immediate site visits (onshore/offshore).
Departmental Support
- Assist in producing/reviewing procedures, technical literature, and safety processes.
- Review proposals and related cost analyses.
- Manage client-owned and offshore department tools, equipment, and PPE.
Key Requirements
Knowledge (Essential)
✔ UK Health & Safety legislation (strong understanding required). ✔ Data logging and communication systems experience. ✔ LV & mechanical fault-finding and analysis techniques. ✔ Wind turbine and wind farm balance-of-plant knowledge. ✔ Offshore transmission assets (OFTO) and HV systems. ✔ HV safety rules and best practices. ✔ Working at height and in confined spaces (awareness).

Skills
✔ Exceptional commitment to safety. ✔ Demonstrated project management capabilities. ✔ Strong technical ability in evaluating complex systems. ✔ Adaptable—capable of working independently or in teams. ✔ Offshore and height safety-ready: Must be physically fit for climbing and offshore transfers. ✔ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Experience (Essential)
✔ Background working in multidiscipline teams (renewable energy or transmission setting preferred). ✔ Offshore industry experience (wind or hydrocarbon). ✔ Transmission systems knowledge (onshore/offshore). ✔ Experience working at height (desirable but not mandatory).
Qualifications
✔ HND in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent technical background). ✔ Full UK/EU driving licence (required for site availability).
Desirable (Training Supported by RES):
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) offshore safety certification.
- IRATA or rigging qualifications.
