Pension Project Manager – Croda

We are seeking a Pension Project Manager to lead and deliver projects for Croda’s in-house Defined Benefit (DB) pension scheme, including process improvements, ensuring projects align with governance, compliance, timelines, and budgets.
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing projects within Defined Benefit pension schemes
- Strong understanding of UK pensions legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working with trustees and multiple pension advisers
- Strong project management skills (planning, risk management, delivery)
- Proficient in stakeholder management and communication
- Ability to interpret technical pensions information
- Familiarity with pension administration systems and data management
- Knowledge of GMP equalisation projects (desirable)
- Degree or relevant qualifications, or equivalent experience
- Project management qualification (advantageous)

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end delivery of pension-related projects, including PIE (Pension Income Exchange) and automation improvements
- Collaborate with Capita (pensions data and calculation software provider) to enhance efficiencies, improve member options (e.g., automated online quotations), and expand PIE offerings for existing pensioners
- Introduce employer-sponsored projects, starting with PIE for new retirees
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Prepare and present project updates to trustee boards and senior stakeholders
- Manage third-party providers and ensure delivery against agreed SLAs
- Ensure compliance with UK pensions legislation and regulations
- Support trustee governance processes, including documentation and audit trails
- Improve pension administration processes and member experience with the pension team
- Lead system implementations or enhancements, including admin platforms and data tools
- Support digital transformation initiatives within the pensions function
