Job Title: Project Manager (PMCM Rail) – WSP

At WSP, we enable meaningful work that reshapes communities and futures. We’re looking for a Project Manager to drive ambitious rail projects of regional, national, and global significance. You’ll deliver safe, high-quality outcomes on time and within budget while nurturing talent and innovation. If you thrive on complexity and want to make a tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex rail projects, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and stakeful expectations while maintaining timelines and budgets.
  • Act as the primary liaison between WSP, clients (e.g., Transport for Wales, Network Rail), and multi-disciplinary teams, facilitating seamless collaboration and risk mitigation.
  • Establish robust project management frameworks, including contract governance (NEC3/NEC4), stakeholder engagement, and crisis resolution.
  • Triage RFI/early-warning risks while embedding continuous improvement in methods and tools.
  • Drive safety leadership, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and environmentally responsible practices.

Your Day-to-Day

Coordination & Delivery

  • Lead targetled workshops to resolve critical issues and align projects with regulatory, safety, and functional requirements.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder relationships, from senior clients to regulatory bodies or local communities.
  • Prepare monthly project reports and data-driven forecasts to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee team performance, resolving conflicts and optimising resource allocation while staying on track for KPIs.

Budget & Compliance

  • Maintain financial transparency: estimate, track, and report costs; review expenditures and invoicing.
  • Manage programmes of work, including scope relaxation (changes/extensions) and root-cause problem-solving.
  • Answer to contract terms proactively, mitigating delays or cost overruns.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
