PROJECT MANAGER (Must be based in NI)

If you are an experienced Project Manager who wants to take full ownership of live client programmes, rather than support someone else running them, this is worth a look.

Oxbow Talent is working with a growing specialist consultancy delivering complex transformation, technology and programme management work for public and private sector organisations. The team is established but still small enough that good people have real influence. You will join with two active programmes ready to take over, giving you meaningful responsibility from the outset.

The role

This is a hands-on delivery position with ownership of two concurrent client programmes. One is focused on governance, stakeholder coordination and programme management within a complex regulated environment. The other involves overseeing a technology-enabled change programme delivered across an internal technical team and several external partners. You will be responsible for the full delivery lifecycle, acting as the main point of contact for senior client stakeholders and ensuring each programme remains controlled, visible and moving forward.

Why it is worth a look

This role offers genuine ownership.

You will not be sitting behind another Project Manager preparing updates or maintaining someone else’s plan. You will lead the programmes, manage senior stakeholder relationships and be accountable for delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The work also offers real variety. You will move between structured governance and programme management activity and a more technically focused delivery environment involving software, data and multiple delivery partners.

Because the consultancy is growing, you will also have the opportunity to improve how projects are delivered internally. The processes, templates and working practices you introduce will have a visible impact across the wider business.

What you will be doing

  • Own the full delivery lifecycle across two concurrent client programmes
  • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, RAID logs, governance structures and reporting
  • Produce and present steering group materials, status reports and executive-level updates
  • Manage project tracking and reporting tools, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate delivery across client teams, technical specialists and external partner organisations
  • Manage competing priorities, dependencies and delivery risks across several stakeholders
  • Plan and lead workshops designed to reach decisions, agree actions and maintain momentum
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches depending on the needs of each programme
  • Oversee technically delivered work, challenge estimates, identify risks and hold delivery teams accountable
  • Contribute to bids and proposals through delivery plans, work breakdown structures and resourcing assumptions
  • Help develop the consultancy’s internal project management methodology, templates and tooling
