About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact by building strategic partnerships with some of the region’s largest water and public sector organisations. Jacobs is at the heart of an all-time high investment in the water and environmental sector across the UK.
Our Project Manager role in the water team (Manchester or Warrington) allows you to:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Deliver large-scale projects including water, wastewater, flood management, and environmental protection
- Work within multi-year frameworks with national clients such as United Utilities, Northumbrian Water, Thames Water, Severn Trent, and Anglian Water
- Ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, stakeholder satisfaction, and on-time/delivery budget completion

Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of planning, detailed design, and Design & Build projects from concept to commissioning
- Manage scope, budget, schedule, and risk for diverse projects, ensuring successful outcomes
- Oversee technical design reviews, constructability assessments, safety and environmental compliance
- Coordinate effectively with clients, regulators, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project documentation such as programmes, cost plans, and progress reports
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing water and wastewater projects, ideally within UK regulatory frameworks
- Strong understanding of infrastructure (e.g. pipelines, sewers) and non-infrastructure (e.g. treatment plants, pumping stations) assets
- Experience with Design & Build delivery models and detailed design coordination
- Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile), or membership of ICE, CIWEM, or NEC accreditation
