Company Description TBA Group is a leading international provider of software and services for ports, terminals, and warehouses with over 150 live installations worldwide. We aim to support our customers during the entire life cycle of their operation from design to implementation to optimisation of their operation. We believe that simplicity lies at the heart of performance of container and bulk terminals. We distinguish ourselves from other firms, by applying state-of-the-art tools such as simulation and emulation allowing our customers to make decisions based on data. You will be working with people of diverse talents and backgrounds. As we are committed to growing our people, we will provide you with opportunities that broaden your knowledge and strengthen your professional & technical skills. Working at TBA, over your career, you will be presented with opportunities to visit and work at customer and other TBA company locations, both within the UK and internationally. Job Description We’re looking for an accomplished Project Manager to take the lead on delivering complex, high-impact projects — typically ranging from £50k to £4M+ — for our clients across the ports and logistics industry. You’ll be the driving force behind each project, ensuring clarity of purpose, structure and pace from day one. Confident in your craft, you’ll combine proven methodologies with the flexibility and instinct that only experience can bring. You’ll bring people together, keep momentum high, and make sure every decision moves us closer to the result that matters most — real business impact. This is a role for a natural leader and problem-solver who thrives on complexity, communicates with confidence, and builds lasting relationships with stakeholders at every level. What you’ll be doing: Own the delivery of multiple projects end-to-end – ensuring outcomes are on time, on budget and of exceptional quality. Lead with clarity and agility – applying the right methodology for the challenge, not following process for process’s sake. Communicate transparently – keeping all stakeholders aligned with clear, concise updates on progress, risks, budgets and decisions. Influence with confidence – navigate senior stakeholder dynamics and political landscapes on the client side with tact and authority. Drive decisions forward – identify blockers early and keep complex programs moving towards delivery. Champion collaboration – work closely with functional experts, developers, and commercial teams to bring the best of our organization to every project. Continuously improve – spot opportunities to refine how we work, share best practice, and raise the bar for project excellence. Qualifications You’re not just a Project Manager — you’re a trusted advisor and strategic partner to your clients. You bring structure without rigidity and clarity without jargon. You’re curious, commercially aware, and thrive in environments where no two projects are the same. You have: A strong track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects successfully. The confidence to make decisions that balance commercial priorities, technical constraints and customer needs. Excellent communication and influencing skills – able to hold your own in the boardroom as easily as with the delivery team. The ability to read between the lines – spotting risks, political currents and opportunities before they surface. A calm, solutions-focused mindset under pressure. Ideally, you’ll hold a recognized project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM) and have the practical experience to apply it flexibly. Additional Information Your impact: You’ll be trusted to lead strategically significant projects and represent the business directly with clients. You’ll make independent decisions that shape outcomes and influence long-term client relationships. You’ll bring order to complexity, translating big goals into achievable plans. You’ll help shape how we deliver projects across the organization – not just follow a playbook. What success looks like: Projects delivered with pace, clarity, and measurable impact. Clients who feel heard, informed and supported throughout. Teams motivated and empowered to do their best work. Lessons learned and improvements embedded after every delivery. You will receive: Salary: £negotiable, depending on skills and experience. Pension. Private Health Insurance - BUPA. Flexible working. Hybrid working culture. Employee discount scheme with retailers. Why join us: This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a growing business delivering technology-driven solutions that transform port operations worldwide. You’ll work alongside talented people who care deeply about what they do, in a culture that values initiative, collaboration and continuous improvement. We give our Project Managers real ownership, the freedom to lead with confidence, and the support to deliver their best work. Join us at TBA Group and be part of a thriving professional organization that values growth and innovation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
