Project Manager – Multi-Utility Projects (Hemel Hempstead)

Murphy is recruiting for a Project Manager to support multi-utility projects based in our Hemel Hempstead office.

The Role

A Day in the Life

As a Project Manager at Murphy, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Being fully accountable for the safe, on-time, and budgeted delivery of multi-utility projects while adhering to contract requirements.
  • Setting and maintaining the overall project/contract standard.
  • Ensuring that project requirements are accurately identified and delivered.
  • Anticipating and resolving issues in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Preparing and managing project programmes, ensuring robust reviews and delivery.
  • Providing line management for Site Managers, Assistant Site Managers, and Section Managers.
  • Actively fostering client relationship management through a collaborative approach.
  • Providing regular updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Overseeing risk assessments, ensuring they are thoroughly created, in place, and reviewed as required.
  • Establishing operating plans, ensuring adequate resource and material allocation.
  • Resolving most operational issues while escalating critical business issues to the BU Director.
  • Managing all commercial activities across projects, including financial control, gross margin delivery, and integral reporting.

Responsibilities

Business Outcomes

You will be expected to deliver projects with precision and efficiency, ensuring profitability through robust cost control and commercial processes. Managing the performance of subcontractors is integral, ensuring budgets are respected and business objectives are upheld.


Experience & Requirements

Essential

We’re seeking candidates with the following:

  • Extensive experience in delivering HV Multi-Utility projects up to 11kV.
  • Proven project management experience in a similar environment.
  • Technical qualification, such as an HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5, or related degree.

Desired

Experience with delivering complex multi-discipline enhancement projects while maintaining exact programmable and budget vitality. Adept negotiation and stakeholder management skills will ensure seamless collaboration with clients and subcontractors.
