Senior Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure & Utilities

WSP (UK & Ireland)

About the Role

What if you could do the kind of work the world needs?

At WSP, you can access our global scale, contribute to landmark projects, and connect with the brightest minds in your field to pursue the best work of your life. You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives, and experience a world of opportunity to shape a career as unique as you.

As a Senior Project Manager in our Project, Commercial and Programme Management team within Civil Infrastructure & Utilities, you’ll support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Our work spans sectors including highways, rail and light rail, urban infrastructure, water, energy, flood risk, wind, carbon capture, nuclear, defence, and large-scale utilities.

You’ll be part of a growing national PMCM community of over 400 project, commercial and programme management professionals, helping clients take projects from concept to completion. Together, we ensure structure, clarity, and confidence around scope, cost, schedule, risk, change, and quality.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Work collaboratively with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and colleagues across WSP.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver impactful projects that improve communities and critical infrastructure.
  • Lead or support projects, programmes, key workstreams, or mentor junior team members—depending on your experience.
  • Build strong client relationships, contribute to project strategy, and manage commercial and contract requirements.
  • Drive safe, high-quality, and sustainable delivery, while fostering innovation in work processes.
  • Be supported in your professional development, including accreditation, leadership training, and sector diversification.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
