Project Manager (Technical) – Fixed Income & Derivatives (Asset Management)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join a leading Asset Management organisation. This role will focus on delivering strategic technology change initiatives across the Fixed Income business, including system integrations, platform migrations, and business-critical transformation projects. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business and technology teams, working closely with developers, business analysts, architects, and front-office stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Location

  • Primary Location: London (Closest Station: Moorgate)
  • WFH Split: 4 days onsite, 1 day work-from-home (compulsory)
  • Contract Duration:
    • Initial: 6 months
    • Total Project Duration: 2 years

Type

Operates under Inside IR35 regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of technology and business change projects within the Fixed Income business
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from planning to implementation
  • Coordinate across development teams, business analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders
  • Drive system integration, migration, and platform transformation initiatives
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communications
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with business objectives and operational requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Strong Asset Management experience (must-have)
  • Proven background working within Fixed Income environments (essential)
  • Experience with Derivatives products and related business processes
  • Demonstrated experience delivering:
    • System integration
    • Migration
    • Large-scale technology change projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage with:
    • Business teams
    • Technology teams
  • Experience working closely with:
    • Developers
    • Business Analysts
    • Architects
    • Senior business stakeholders
  • Excellent project delivery and governance experience

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of front-to-back investment management workflows
  • Experience delivering projects across:
    • Trading
    • Portfolio management
    • Risk
    • Operations functions
  • Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies

Ideal Candidate

This role is suited to a Project Manager who:

  • Comes from an Asset Management background
  • Has deep exposure to Fixed Income and Derivatives
  • Has successfully delivered technology-driven integration and migration projects
  • Does not need to be hands-on technical but must be comfortable working closely with technology teams to manage complex technical change initiatives

Mandatory Informal Note:

Asset Management and Fixed Income experience are mandatory requirements for this position.
