How you'll make a difference
As a Project Manager working within the Transformation team, you will oversee and lead key projects, managing the scope and delivery of a range of change initiatives. Supporting the development and implementation of ambitious, complex and multi-faceted transformation projects, you will be responsible for elements of system redesign and implementation, organisational improvement, behaviour change and delivery of savings.
What you will be doing
As an experienced project manager, you will use a flexible approach to develop, lead, manage and implement a range of complex and innovative projects across the council. It will be your responsibly to drive change that improves outcomes for our service users and delivers a value for money service. Using your experience and knowledge, you will provide expertise and advice to a range of customers, analyse opportunities for innovation, establish effective ways of working and ensure council activity is lawful. You will adopt a matrix management approach, ensuring team members are motivated and highly competent, while maintaining a creative and participative culture. It will be key for you to manage, review and resolve any issues relating to budgets and financial information, ensuring targets are met, reports are delivered and council resources are used efficiently to achieve value for money.

What we need from you

We require you to hold a relevant professional qualification, degree or equivalent specialist qualification such as It is essential that you have technical skills and experience that demonstrate your ability to project manage project delivery, including risk management and public and stakeholder engagement. You must be able to think strategically and creatively, demonstrate strong innovation and problem-solving skills and show adaptably when delivering projects. It will be key for you to have the ability to collaborate and communicate with colleagues from across the organisation, including senior officers, elected members and a range of external stakeholders.
What you need to know
This is a limited term contract until May 2027. This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road and working from home. Interviews will be held on the 20th May 2026
