Client Facing Project Manager

Equans is looking for a Client Facing Project Manager to join our team covering the North of England on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, and benefits package.

Working on a prestigious government account the post holder will be responsible for managing a variety of FM project works from 35k-1M.

The role requires site visits in and around the North of England. The role offers hybrid working.

What will you deliver?

  • Liaise with key stakeholders on their requirements and explain feasibility of their schemes to become a trusted advisor
  • Work with developers, designers, and sub-contractors to define and document scope(s) of work(s)
  • Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project business case and in turn outcome. This is to be within agreed budget requirements and required profit margins
  • Manage, run, and draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required. Carry out full tender analysis of all sub-contractor returns
  • Ensuring all project works are compliant to CDM 2015
  • Identify, reduce, and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project they are leading
  • Ensure EQUANS SHEQ practices and processes are fully embedded in each project
  • Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures
  • Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) “end to end”. Activities to include but not be limited to estimating, business development, quantity surveying, sub-contractor management, and site manager duties
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s)
  • Ensure customer acceptance is adhered to, in writing, and in line with the project plans
  • Mutually agree payment schedules and applications for payment to the benefit of the project and the business
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored
  • Provide timely monthly reports to the Head of Projects/Sector Director in an agreed format

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a client facing project management role is essential, with technical knowledge in MEP services being ideal
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to manage own administration tasks
  • Champion of CDM regulations – Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations including the Duty Holders and their responsibilities as well as the CDM requirements of each stage of a project i.e. Pre-Construction, Construction, and Handover. Understanding of the Building Safety Act and the Building Regulations, including the use of the Competent Contractor Scheme for self-certification of installations and projects.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand commercial and financial metrics
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines and present with confidence
  • Ability to track multiple projects simultaneously, whilst maintaining our Project Management System to ensure accurate reporting and visibility of key data
  • Fully competent with Project Management methodology
  • Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation
