Project Manager

Senior / Lead Project Manager

Location: Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire Salary: Up to £55,000 (depending on experience)


About the Role

Renishaw is seeking an experienced Senior / Lead Project Manager to join its Additive Manufacturing Group, supporting plans for future product development. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the role will involve:

  • Coordination and management of multi-disciplinary R&D projects
  • Development of new technologies, techniques, and products to advance the additive manufacturing industry
  • Delivery of projects from planning to commercial release
  • Collaboration with external funding bodies and industry partnerships

Based at Renishaw’s New Mills site, the role may require occasional travel to other business sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage additive manufacturing projects through planning, execution, and market release, ensuring optimal methods
  • Support projects through Renishaw’s formal product development process
  • Drive externally funded projects and applications
  • Work within a project management team to deliver the broader additive manufacturing programme
  • Communicate project status via presentations, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead risk management, resource planning, scope definition, and compliance/documentation
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and project resources using Renishaw’s custom software
  • Report progress against roadmaps, iterations, and market timelines
  • Facilitate team meetings, stand-ups, retrospectives, and risk reviews
  • Assist in roadmap development, flagship reporting, and board-level updates
  • Promote process improvement initiatives across divisions and the business
  • Support the Programme Manager in operational activities as required

Requirements

Essential:

  • Deep experience in project management for R&D and new product launches
  • Minimum HNC/Degree (2:1 or above) in a STEM or Management-related field
  • Ability to work independently and as part of global/remote teams, driving outcomes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Full, valid passport (for UK travel)
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential for site access in some cases)

Desirable:

  • Certified project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP)
  • Experience managing Innovate UK-funded projects
  • Engineering-specific project management background
  • Familiarity with configuration management systems (e.g., Microsoft DevOps/Jira, Atlassian tools, SharePoint)
  • Experience leading remote teams
