A Little More About Your Role…
Our Water Asset Design team operates primarily in the municipal water sector as well as the non-regulated (industrial/international) sector. Our clients include some of the largest water companies in the UK, as well as contractors in the sector. We deliver key projects such as:
- Wastewater treatment
- Water treatment
- Sewerage
- Water network schemes
- Related infrastructure projects
Our work encompasses a broad scope—from routine network maintenance to some of the largest water projects in the UK. The team is distributed across the UK, supported by an outsourced team in India.
About the Role
We are hiring a Project Manager – Water to lead the delivery of complex projects involving multidisciplinary teams from optioneering through delivery to handover, ensuring project objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
As the Project Manager in our Asset Design team, you will:
- Manage project proposals, determining requirements, scope, resources, program timelines, and cost estimates (budgets).
- Own the P&L, including:
- Commercial and financial accountability (revenue delivery, margin and overhead management)
- Budget and forecasting (determination and attainment)
- Risk and opportunity reviews
- Cost controls, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection
- Develop critical project management documentation, including:
- Management plans
- Cost estimates & forecasts
- Risk registers
- Project schedules
- Stakeholder registers
- Project organisation charts
- Monitor and control the project schedule, manhours, budgets, and expenditure.
- Ensure effective contract management, including contract administration and change management.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, including technical/professional staff and suppliers.
- Champion high-quality delivery while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
- Monitor project deliverables, information, and records.
- Communicate project information effectively to both the team and customers.
- Proactively address issues and mitigate conflicts that could impact project delivery.

Requirements
We’re looking for exceptional candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience in delivering infrastructure projects, preferably within:
- The regulated water industry or
- The non-regulated water sector (highly advantageous, but not mandatory)
- Working knowledge or accreditation in NEC contracts, along with the technical and practical skills to administer them.
- Membership of a professional institution, such as:
- Association for Project Management (APM)
- Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE)
- Other relevant associations
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Competence in stakeholder management, risk, planning/scheduling, and commercial management.
